- The ideal candidate will be a magnet for quality and a builder of teams.
- He or she will demonstrate: Excellent academic credentials, including a post-graduate degree and an authentic passion about teaching and learning, including a strong commitment to ongoing intellectual growth and professional development, including his/her own.
- A record of success, innovation, and enjoyment as a classroom teacher, plus at least five years' of senior administrative responsibility with evidence of leadership in staff development.
- A record of attracting, developing, and motivating outstanding professionals of diverse experience and backgrounds and of enabling cooperative practice across departments and teaching staff.

Job Description
|
- Overall responsibility for the safety and well-being of Academy students and staff in all aspects of the life of the school (academic, co-curricular and residential).
- Recruit high quality academic and administrative staff and provide meaningful appraisal systems and processes that focus on professional growth.
- Provide leadership in creating and maintaining physical environments that promote effective teaching and learning. Build a strong community that is responsive to all constituencies, including students, staff, parents, and graduates. Develop, mentor, challenge, and support the teaching staff and create a sense of team amongst the staff so as to enable them to do their best work, individually and collectively.
- Set with the staff shared academic and administrative goals within a strategic plan, and implement processes to achieve these goals.
- Provide leadership in the development of a strong capacity and culture for faculty members' ongoing professional learning and for the establishment and development of a strong outreach function for local schools through the Academy's Professional Development Centre (PDC).
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the school; this includes careful management and accountability for fiscal resources.
- Oversee the evaluation of student progress and the development and management of systems for communicating with parents and other educational agencies.
- Develop a culture and systems for providing appropriate student support in all aspects of their development. Establish a culture of continuous improvement, based on an ethos of reflective practice and ongoing evaluation. Serve as the primary spokesperson to communicate to internal and external audiences the vision and short- and long-term goals of the Academy.
- Establish and nurture relationships with Ministry, tertiary institutions and other agencies that will facilitate or enhance the development and influence of the Academy and provide opportunities for its graduates
